The Shining Sun

As part of our focus on learning to describe and sentence structure, we used a mentor text about the moon to base our ideas on.

The Koru Painting

Ruby and Sapphire groups have been learning to describe using more specific words and similes/metaphors to create imagery in their writing.  Ms Matangi brought in a painting for everyone to use as inspiration.  Here are some of their fantastic pieces... it is still being added to so stay tuned for more.

Descriptive Writing with Miss Marlow

The Ruby and Sapphire groups have been working on two main things this term: using different sentence structures and describing.

This week we've all been working on describing a painting by Ms Matangi.  We had to think about what it looks like, what it reminds us of, the colours, textures and symbolism.  We've had some fantastic pieces of writing created... take a look!
