Literacy Superstars

Mr Radford, Whaea Awhina and Miss Beauchamp set up a treasure hunt for our Literacy group. In groups of four we had to read a set of clues and find different places around the farm. We found the treasure on top of the hill.

Alternatives Key Clothing Challenge: THE FASHION SHOW

As part of our exploration of the key concept "Adaptation" we had a challenge to adapt a piece of old clothing to make it suitable for a party.  We had a lot of options of old clothing (thanks all those parents who sent things along!) and we had lots of things that could be added such as sequins, glitter, fuzzy balls, buttons, googly eyes, string, ribbon, crepe paper, cellophane and much more.  Take a look at these adaptations below... A WARNING... watch with caution: many decided they were off to a fancy dress party and their are some very creative looking items of clothing!  We think they did brilliantly and they certainly learnt a lot about adaptation...

Let's Get Inventin' Logo Innovation

As part of exploring our key concept "invention" we have been looking at how to design a logo.  Here's the clip that we watched.  It has some great ideas for effective logo design and creation.  Stay tuned for some pics of our logo designs in the next few days!

Everyone did so well with this and there were some fantastic creations.  Take a look at us in action...
