Ko Au Art: Multi-media Self Portraits

As part of our Ko Au Art Rotations, Miss Beauchamp was helping our students to take a photo of themselves and divide it into 4 sections and then use a variety of different media: pastel, pencil, paint and collage to colour it.  Take a look at this example of Charlotte - it looks great.   We hope to have all finished during our Ko Au rotations in the next week so stay tuned for more on the blog and come and check them out in our classes!






Whakarongo Kid Navigators are RESPONSIBLE...

Our value for weeks 3 and 4 is Responsibility.  Today we had a fantastic discussion in Ropu Awatea about the key things responsible do and guidelines for developing responsibility.  With each new value, our children are setting new goals - be sure to ask your child what their goal is... we are encouraging them to challenge themselves so they can be responsible Navigators (as part of the Whakarongo Kid).

Ko Au Art


To start off our year the whole of the Awatea Team are creating 3 self-portraits in different ways.  It's a great way to start the year, get to know each other and have our students' "mark" on our classrooms.  Here are some examples of our digital art project where we are using our own photos to create Andy Warhol style art.  Stay tuned for more...
