Discovery Design

Another option for our discovery modules, has been to design a new product.  Thomas, Natasha, Alyssa & Kate all thought that the standard umbrella wasn't good enough for protecting you from the wind and rain in Palmerston North.  Here's their solution...


Discovery Portrait Art

This term, one of the options for our discovery modules has been focusing on creating portraits using different famous artists for inspiration.  This is a portrait of Erin, completed by Alice in Ropu Awatea.  It looks fantastic!

The Shining Sun

As part of our focus on learning to describe and sentence structure, we used a mentor text about the moon to base our ideas on.

Descriptive Writing with Miss Marlow

The Ruby and Sapphire groups have been working on two main things this term: using different sentence structures and describing.

This week we've all been working on describing a painting by Ms Matangi.  We had to think about what it looks like, what it reminds us of, the colours, textures and symbolism.  We've had some fantastic pieces of writing created... take a look!
